Tony Bird is one of the most original musical voices of the last 25 years. His songs paint beautiful portraits of his beloved African homeland, his unique view of life in New York and the exile that has kept him from Africa for over 30 years.

Record label marketing issues and a mysterious neurological disorder have kept Bird from truly breaking through and enjoying the popularity he so richly deserves. Song of the Long Grass is a documentary about Bird's life and music as he prepares for his visit to Africa in 30 years.
